The Dashing Fellows

As I was Saying...

By Ryan Scott Nov. 11, 2010 7:00 am

Yesterday's student march is further proof that the Brits are anything but a sober nation. Twice more than the estimated 25 000 apparently turned up and further action is promised.

In the Guardian newsstory it says the police had failed to "anticpate the level of violence". Perhaps, the police were buying into the old stereotypes that journalists do.

I'm not saying that the violence was effective. Nor was it supported by the head of Britain's National Union of Students. I'm merely reiterating what I said yesterday that national stereotypes are not as fixed as people like to imagine.
