Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi was struck by a crazy, souvenir-wielding, mad man after signing autographs for supporters in Milan. He was left with two broken teeth, a minor nose fracture and cuts to his lip, according to BBC News. I watched the footage and found it hard to make out, but Berlusconi looked like he was in shock. He did emerge from his car to assure supporters that he was ok, but the damage had clearly been done.
Two things spring to mind from watching this. One, Berlusconi should have taken a page from our former Prime Minister, Jean Chretien. Go for the choke hold, dude. Second, although he denies having mob ties, I wouldn't be surprised if this deranged psycho that attacked him doesn't get a shiv in his back in lock-up.
And now he gets what he needs to destroy at all our sick italian democracy...
