The Dashing Fellows

Books! (aka Superman is a super perv)

- Superman fetish art, well, it doesn't involve Superman but the Canadian half of the duo that created him. Joe Shuster apparently did this work after trying to sue DC for the copyright to the last Kryptonian. So if you're into seeing what Lois and Clark do behind closed doors (there's a lot of whipping involved), this book's for you. The author and comics historian Craig Yoe will be at the Toronto Comics Arts Festival this weekend.

- what's Obama reading? Apparently Netherland which has made this segment at least three times. When exactly does Obama get time to read? I figure he sleeps at most 5 hours a day. Well, O-Bizzle, like I says, Netherland is a good book, but far from great.

- In celebration of pigs that were flying, (i.e. swine flu) the Globe and Mail lists some lesser known (to me, at least) plague books. Off the top of my head, I'll throw in The Plague by Albert Camus and Blindness by Jose Saramago. Both books examine the breakdown of morality and the strength that some can have in times of disease-driven apocalypse.
