I should try and devote a whole feature to Ed one of these days, but for now, I'll link you to his wikipedia page. Undoubtedly one of the best writers in comics, he ties only with Garth Ennis for my favourite writer of all time award (including fiction and non-fiction). Ed's work can be characterized as hard-boiled, crime fiction. His own titles, including Criminal, Scene Of The Crime and Sleeper, illustrate that gritty noir style brilliantly, with flawed heroes and femme fatales. He manages to inject a lot of it into his superhero work too, like Catwoman, Daredevil and Captain America. For me, his work on Daredevil is some of the best superhero writing out there.
