After months of wondering when we'd hear something, anything! about the new Superman movie, here comes Deadline with a bit of news. The guy that did Watchmen, 300, and the Dawn of the Dead remake will direct the next Man of Steel movie.
Snyder's an alright pick for this. He's got the visual and action chops to make a pretty badass Superman movie if he can avoid some of the failings that marred Watchmen and 300. With Nolan backing it, I think it's a good bet he'll make a pretty decent flick. Although I doubt he'll want to explore the Nietzschean elements underlying the Superman mythology. Hey, philosophy's not everyone's cup of tea!
