Introverted-ness, a sign of a good leader

By Hannah Bontogon Dec. 7, 2009 6:12 pm

I’ve often been pegged the shy introvert because I’m not as loquacious or long-winded as other people.  For the most part, it’s not that I don’t have anything to say or contribute; I simply value listening -an underrated part of the cycle of communication.  I've also earned the quiet label in instances where I needed a break from being around people.  I’ve turned down a night out to enjoy the occasional hot date with myself so I don’t have to talk to anyone and just quietly enjoy my own company.  The work I do in the community where I’m dealing with different personalities, and trying hard to accommodate and serve everyone’s needs is particularly taxing there are days I’m completely exhausted and people-ed out.  But it looks like I’m not lame after all because these are positive qualities Forbes says make a good leader.
