Shit just got real!
It was almost a year ago when this small collective started its Caged Wisdom series, and the reception was supportive, but relatively small. That's about to change.
It appears that TIFF is launching its own Cage tribute - Bangkok Dangerous: The Cinema of Nicolas Cage. Featuring a selection of Cage favourites - including The Rock, Wild at Heart, and The Wicker Man among others (his Oscar-wining Leaving Las Vegas is mysteriously absent). The craziness starts January 28 with Valley Girl and ends April 17 with Vampire's Kiss.
So it seems we're not the only ones in awe of Sir Nicolas. The AV Club Toronto also tweeted this week that it will also start doing its own series of Nicolas Cage essays called... Caged Wisdom!
So all this begs the question: did our blog inspire this little Cage Renaissance, was it collective unconscious, or both?
And what does Nicolas Cage think about all this?
