Forget the Colts and the Saints. If I want to watch a true smackdown, I'm going to watch this full-length, unedited tet-a-tet of Jon Stewart and Bill O'Reilly on The O'Reilly Factor.
I'll give props to Fox News (*gasp*) for posting the entire interview on their site and youtube. God knows how hard it must be for them to show footage of them getting royally dissed on their own network.
I will say that Stewart is right about O'Reilly; he IS the only voice of reason on that network now. I don't know if this has to do with the somewhat obvious, good-natured relationship he has with Stewart, or if he's starting to moderate somewhat, but I didn't feel like he was his usual self. There was no anger in O'Reilly's questions, no cutting of the microphone, no sparks really. Just a spirited conversation between two very opposite men.
I'll also mention that Stewart does such a good job of balancing his obvious intellect with his comedic inclination very well. I'm not sure why he doesn't move on to a real news network, but I'm happy that he's still out there holding Fox and co.'s feet to the fire.
All kinds of awesome.
