Whoa, vaginal cosmetic surgery is actually a thing and it is on the rise. The two main reasons for the increase of labiaplasty: comfort and vanity. The former I can understand, if you ride a bike and it hurts your box, by all means go under the knife and get corrective surgery. The latter reason is a bit murky. I mean, I like a good looking vag as much as the next guy, but is the appearance of genitalia really that important? Can you honestly imagine a red-blooded male, fully engorged, his cardiovascular circulation on overdrive, stopping dead having finally de-clothed a girl after endless dates and sweet nothings at the sight of her vagina? Aside from a serious patchwork case of the herp or a marshland that would make the crab fisherman of Alaska wet, what factors would need to be in play that would bring a man’s screaming libido to a sudden halt? Would the vagina connoisseur be critical of the labial puff? Is there preferred clitoral size? Does the hairstyle matter? What about the slope of the protruding pubic bone? Is this guy just a jack ass? Yes, he is. Is there a Platonic form of vagina that is aspired to? Apparently there is, as the perfect vagina is advertised as both "homongenised [and] pre-pubescent", which just reinforces all female mode of beauty: symmetry and youth (in this case disgustingly youthful youth) But let’s be real; genitals in general, both male and female, aren’t the most graceful things to begin with. The penis can look dumb and oafish, a turgid appendage unsure of its own stiff presence like that of an overgrown 9-er on his first day of high-school. Similarly, the vagina, far from flowery, looks unruly almost conniving in its perpetual half-smirk. To even judge the penis and the vagina on their appearance is a moot point considering most people like turning the lights off during the freak nasty; it’s already called the freak nasty. Not to make too light the situation, attention does need to be paid to the fact that vaginal reconstructive surgery can all be stemming from social pressures. The logic that assumes a protruding vagina as uncomfortable would necessarily have to extend to men who have genitalia that protrude and hang much further than a woman’s but who don’t claim discomfort. The prevalence of pornography and it’s portrayal of airbrushed envelopes has been attributed with creating this widespread feeling of inadequacy amongst women. The rise in labiaplasty needs to be balanced with social awareness, especially given the lack of literature regarding the effects of having such a procedure done. Personally, I’ve seen very few memorable vaginas, and even fewer because of their aesthetic appeal. Women may be placing too much stock in attaining, as one doctor put it, "an elegant-looking labia" (I don’t even want to get into how nonsensical that phrase is [does it come with a plush ottoman?]). Women need to remember that for men the shape of your vagina meaningless. Your breasts however, now that’s an investment, because as all men now know, those extra 3-4 inches do in fact matter.
Actually both "labiaplasty" and "labioplasty" are correct forms:

What point, exactly, do you feel I am not driving away at properly? As for the the grammar, you must have noticed that the tone of the site was colloquial. Hence, the unscientific references and just straight slang.
" labioplasty has nothing to do with the vagina. You see, the vagina is inside a woman's body. The minor and major labia are parts of the vulva. Vulva != vagina."
circular logic alert!
Hi there, I feel as I should comment on the things I find wrong with your article. While it is great that you try to raise awareness about this and ask some questions, I'm afraid that your grammar and factual errors are not in fact helping you drive this point too far.
Starting with the title. It's 'labioplasty'. And, labioplasty has nothing to do with the vagina. You see, the vagina is inside a woman's body. The minor and major labia are parts of the vulva. Vulva != vagina. There's a reason why the procedure is called labioplasty and not vaginoplasty. Of course the BBC reporter(s) that wrote the article referred to it as the vagina because frankly, I don't believe they know any better or they just assume that they'd look pretentious by using relatively unknown words (to the general population) such as vulva or labia minora/majora. Their ignorance however should not be an excuse for yours.
Second, I'd be willing to bet that most of those who undergo such a procedure are actually in the business of selling sex. I doubt any sane woman would pay for such a procedure (or that any sane man would ask that of his gf/wife).
Fact is a man could care less about how a vulva looks and much less so when it comes to a vagina (unless they have pedophilic tendencies and want a younger looking vulva), men are hardwired to like a woman's sex. If a woman's sex would look like a bowling ball or something else, we'd still like it because we'd be conditioned to like it just the way it is. It's simply a matter of survival.
You also have a few grammar/spelling errors which I am not going to point out because I don't feel like playing the grammar nazi here. But you should know better than that and use a spell/grammar checker when you write your article(s).
All the best.
