It's been an undeniably tough year for the Answer. He began this season looking for a fresh start with a young Memphis team following unsuccessful stints with Detroit and Denver before that, all teams where he didn't quite fit in to the long term plans.
After alot of drama, he had an emotional return to Philadelphia, the city that made him. More recently, Iverson has taken time off to spend time with his ailing daughter.
Reports came in last week that Iverson has been removed from the 76ers roster and, because this occured past the March 1st deadline, he will not be able to join another team this season. It's quite possible that he has played his last game in the NBA.
It's sad to see such a celebrated career fade out this way. Whatever happens, this is a man who left it all on the court.
