The CNE douchebag

I was at the Canadian National Exhibition earlier this week and there was one thing more noticeable to me than the Curious George stuffed animals or the lineup for fried butter.  The most visible thing at the CNE this year was the douchebag.  You know the type that I am talking about.  This guy is really good at being obnoxious, usually travels in a pack with other douches, pushes through crowds, scopes out any girl over 14-years-old, swears up a storm, talks really loud and walks with an overinflated sense of self worth.  As the day became warmer and the dudes became douchier, the crowd at the CNE almost looked like it was entirely made up with guys wearing A-shirts (otherwise known as muscle shirt, singlet, tank top, wifebeater) or Affliction t-shirts with hair that had way too much gel in it.  

How to spot a CNE douchebag

The attire
Here are some reasons why I think the infamous A-shirt is being worn by skinny teenagers everywhere
- They are cheap... but so are plain white t-shirts that have actual sleeves on them.
- They show off your physique... which says enough about the person wearing the A-shirt.  Are sleeves really too confining for their muscles that they will not be seen?
- They make you look tough... even if you are only 150lbs.
- Eminem wears them.
- Girls like guys who wear them.  

Seriously, people can wear whatever they want.  The CNE douchebag attire does not bother me as much as their moronic attitude…
 
The Attitude
- They are loud and obnoxious because they want to get noticed and do not care what anybody else thinks which apparently makes them tough because they can get away with it.
- Swearing is the ultimate way to stick it to society. Nothing says rebellious more than dropping an f-bomb once a sentence.
- Eminem acts that way.
- Girls like guys who act that way

The CNE douchebag still exists because there is something conditioning guys to act that way.  The main reason why 90% of teenage guys act the way they do is because they think girls like it.  Sort of like Pavlov’s Dog but swap “ring a bell” with “act like an asshole” and “treat” with “herpes.”  Sadly, I cannot disagree with this reasoning because if girls really did not go for the CNE douchebag then the latter would not exist.  It is not entirely the CNE douchebags' fault that they ended up this way as along with their tough middle-class childhood growing up in the suburbs like Brampton and Mississauga, they also believe that their antics make them more attractive to girls.  We all went through a stage where being something for somebody else meant more than just being yourself.  With that being said, the CNE douchebag needs to grow up because there will never be a good enough reason to walk, talk and act like a jerk.
