Vanity Fair Cover Controversy

By Colin Ellis Feb. 3, 2010 7:50 pm

The cover of this month's Vanity Fair is getting flack for its lack of visible minorities. Who's missing? How about Oscar-nominee Gabourey Sidibe from Precious or Frieda Pinto from Slumdog Millionaire?

This cover shows a lack of both imagination and progressiveness on the part of Vanity Fair, which has a penchant for choosing mostly white stars for their "Hollywood" issues.

If this is what the next decade of Hollywood stars is going to look like, I guess it won't be that different from any other.

Is it bad that my first thought was "this would make for good Nazi propaganda"?

@Rui: Lol, not really... Whitewashing pisses me off.

I think Zöe Saldana should've been on there.
