A couple weeks ago President Obama threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the MLB All-Star game. As usual, his critics have taken him to task. This time the complaint is that he had a weak arm and his pitch barely made it to the plate. Granted, Albert Pujols did have to reach a little bit to keep the pitch from hitting the dirt, but at leat it was more-or-less on target. Here's a sampling of how other celebrities have fared in the past. Some of these pitches make Obama's toss look like he should have been playing in the all-star game and not just opening the festivities.
Pujols was also in front of the plate so the pitch was well short. Although, nothing like the Carl Lewis disaster. His pitch was rolling by the time it got to the catcher. I don't understand why these athletic people can't do a better job of throwing a ball. Or why they wouldn't practice before throwing out the first pitch. Sure Obama's kinda busy and stuff....but still.
